Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful and famous reincarnations of Lord Vishnu. According to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksh or the 8th day of the dark fortnight in the month of Bhadon. This day indicates the beginning of hope in the older times that the malicious rule of Kansa would soon end.  To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami was celebrated at Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur on 6 September, 2023 (Wednesday) with full enthusiasm. The fragrance of flowers, soothing aroma of camphor and the jingle of bells filled the air. Students presented melodious Bhajans in the School Assembly and recited poems on the same. The School Auditorium was decorated beautifully and the spirit of festivity was enhanced with Jhankis depicting life history of Lord Krishna.   Teacher’s   Day was celebrated in the School on September 5, 2023 and the celebration began at around 8:00 am in the morning. The program was lead off with a prayer song sung by the school choir, followed by an innovative inauguration by honorable Chairman Ma’am, Director Ma’am and Principal Ma’am who offered flowers to a portrait of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. A student then gave the audience a peek into the life of Dr. Radhakrishnan through speech. This was followed by beautiful poems presented by students who thanked the teachers for all the efforts they put into to help the pupils to grow. The School choir also presented ultimatum music performance for the teachers in   their melodious voice. The School Principal, Mrs. Anitha R. while addressing the entire school, urged students to maintain the bequest of respecting teachers and lauded the entire staff for their exemplary contribution to the school’s phenomenal success.   Activities or competitions based on quiz enhances general knowledge, critical thinking & curiosity to explore more and provide excitement among the students. Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur successfully conducted a Quiz Competition for the tiny tots of Nursery to UKG on 1st September, 2023 (Friday). This competition was also conducted in Nanhe Kadam Vasant Valley Sangrur and Dhuri with full enthusiasm. The questions were mainly based on the general knowledge and from their regular curriculum of the school. The students showcased their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions. Though some of the questions were very tricky, the teams tried to answer them with confidence. The questions put forth to the teams were intriguing, exciting and made the audience clap when the team answered it correctly.
