Hundreds of students of Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur were made aware about the danger in using Chinese string to fly kites. Students were shown different videos to shun the use of banned string. The School Principal, Mrs. Anitha R. stated that despite the ban on the Chinese plastic string, it is being sold in the city with impunity. We motivated the school children not to buy the string, as its use imperils the lives of human beings and birds. She also added that the string was being manufactured in China earlier so it was called the Chinese string, but now it was being manufactured at various places in India such as Noida, Bengaluru, UP, etc. Students were accompanied by teachers also. In regard to this, the President of FAP, Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri started a campaign “ Say No to China Dor”and informed all the schools to take pledge on this ongoing campaign. So students of Vasant Valley Public School took a pledge to avoid the usage of this string. The School Chairman, Mr. Sanjay Gupta requested everyone to stay away from the banned string. He appealed to people to inform the concerned authorities about the sale of the string in the city so that strict action could be taken against the sellers.
