“Excitement and Sportsmanship Take Center Stage at Vasant Valley’s Sports Day”

 

In an exhilarating display of athleticism and sportsmanship, the much-anticipated Sports Day at Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur kicked off on 2nd November, 2023 with a grand Torch Ceremony and an inspiring March Past. The event happened to be a two-day extravaganza, uniting students of all ages, from the littlest tots to the seasoned seniors of Grade 12.

The Sports Day, aptly named ‘AASTHA,’ added a unique touch of unity and competitive spirit as students were divided into five houses- Beas, Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi, and Sutlej. In a thrilling competition of skill and determination, it was the Beas House that emerged victorious, clinching the overall trophy. The triumph of Beas House was a testament to the relentless efforts of both students and teachers, who collectively demonstrated their dedication and sportsmanship.

The grand event also received well-deserved recognition from the School’s leadership. The Principal of the School, Mrs. Anitha R., and the  Chairman of the School, Mr. Sanjay Gupta, took the opportunity to appreciate the remarkable display of talent, sportsmanship, and teamwork that unfolded at ‘AASTHA.’ Their words of encouragement and praise served as a fitting conclusion to a memorable sports day that brought the entire school community together in the spirit of competition and camaraderie.

Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur celebrated the Earth Day with students

As a step towards educating, inspiring and motivating children to act, World Earth Day was celebrated on 21st April 2022 by the students of Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur focusing on the theme “Invest in our planet.”   A wide range of activities had been organised for students such as slogan writing competition, thumb painting, balloon painting on Earth Day so that they understand the need to restore Earth’s environment to its former glory. Tiny tots also presented a wonderful skit based on Earth Day and planted small plant saplings in the school campus. The day began with the distribution of report cards, where students were recognized for their hard work and achievements throughout the year.
