Grade IV Students of Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur immerse in Cultural Odyssey at Sangrur’s Heritage Fair


In a captivating journey through time and tradition, Grade IV students from Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur recently participated in a transformative field trip to Sangrur’s Heritage Fair held at Government Ranbir College on 22 November, 2023. The event served as a gateway for young minds to delve into the cultural drapes of the region, offering a unique blend of history, heritage, and hands-on experiences.

 

The students were treated to a myriad of exhibits that unfolded the pages of Sangrur’s history. One highlight of the trip to the fair was that local artisans and experts shared their wisdom with the students. Students experienced the joy of laughter and excitement as they whirl and twirl on the fairground rides. The Heritage Fair acted as a catalyst for fostering a deeper appreciation for the local culture, instilling a sense of responsibility to preserve and pass on these traditions to future generations. The Grade 4 students returned from the Heritage Fair not just with souvenirs but with a treasure trove of experiences and memories that will shape their understanding of Sangrur’s heritage.

 

On a closing note the School Principal, Mrs. Anitha Rajgopalan. stated that such field trips seamlessly blended education and enjoyment, aligns with the school’s commitment to holistic learning. The trip served as a reminder that education extends beyond classroom walls, and sometimes, the most profound lessons are learned by immersing oneself in the living history of one’s own community.
