Triumph and Throws: Sangrur District Athletics Championships Celebrate Outstanding Performances

 


The War Hero Stadium in Sangrur played host to an exhilarating showcase of talent at the District Athletics Championships, where young athletes  of Vasant Valley Public school  displayed their prowess in discuss throw and shot put .

In the girls category, Supreet  Kaur of class X, clinched the 1st position in both discuss throw and shot put, demonstrating exceptional strength and precision. Her remarkable achievements were met with cheers from the spectators, highlighting her dedication and skill in these field events.

On the boys front,  Jatkeer Singh of class X secured an impressive 2nd position in the discuss throw event. His powerful throws showcased a combination of technique and raw strength, earning him a well-deserved spot on the podium.

The championships, organized by the District Sports Authority, aimed to promote  and encourage young athletes to excel in various disciplines. Officials praised the commitment and passion displayed by the students of Vasant Valley Public school , emphasizing the importance of such events in identifying and nurturing talent.

The School Principal Mrs Anitha Rajagopalan congratulated the sports stars of the school who  demonstrated exceptional skill and determination and  displayed remarkable prowess by clinching the  positions .

She also added that achievements not only bring pride to themselves but also to our school and the entire academic community. It is truly inspiring to witness our students excel both academically and also in the realm of sports.

Their accomplishments reflect  their individual dedication and  also the supportive environment fostered by our school. We take great pride in nurturing academic excellence and also fostering a holistic development approach, including sports.

As the echoes of victory resonated through the War Hero Stadium, it became evident that these young throwers are not just competitors but champions in the making, setting the stage for a promising future in athletics for Sangrur's youth.

Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur celebrated the Earth Day with students

As a step towards educating, inspiring and motivating children to act, World Earth Day was celebrated on 21st April 2022 by the students of Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur focusing on the theme “Invest in our planet.”   A wide range of activities had been organised for students such as slogan writing competition, thumb painting, balloon painting on Earth Day so that they understand the need to restore Earth’s environment to its former glory. Tiny tots also presented a wonderful skit based on Earth Day and planted small plant saplings in the school campus.
