A conducive learning environment: New measures for the holistic development of students

Vasant Valley Public School has always been committed to provide holistic education which helps the young minds to blossom. School education, as a process, has been contributing to the holistic development of children. It also plays a crucial role in providing citizenship education to children in the country. This process formally takes place within the boundaries of a school with a designed curriculum including textbooks.

If one tries to visualise the schooling process in the present time, one sees an image of a child with a bag on the shoulder. The very posture and the expression on the face of the child give an impression that the bag is very heavy for the child.

Children are natural learners. They learn more when they are stress free and are in a conducive learning environment. The issue of bad posture and backache in children and adolescents has become a current issue in India.

Following on the footsteps of the CBSE's directive instructing schools to reduce weight of school bags, we among other schools in the city have decided to  take up measures to ensure students aren't burdened by the weight of their bags. The school Principal, Mrs Anitha Rajgopalan has suggested that the books will be designed according to the latest NCF syllabus and students will not come with hunchbacks to school.
