Two-Day Training on Experiential Learning at Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur

 


Vasant Valley Public School held a comprehensive two-day training program on June 24th and 25th for its teachers, focusing on "Experiential Learning." The sessions were led by esteemed resource persons from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Dr. Manjari Tejpal and Mr. Vivek Tiwari.

The training covered various critical aspects of modern educational strategies. Key topics included Kolb's Experiential Learning Cycle, Bloom's Taxonomy, the L.A.A.R. (Listen, Acknowledge, Accept, and Respond) strategy, and the integration of multiple intelligences in teaching. Dr. Tejpal and Mr. Tiwari provided valuable insights into crafting lesson plans that incorporate these principles, aiming to enrich the teaching and learning experience.

Dr. Manjari Tejpal highlighted the significance of experiential learning, advocating for hands-on activities and reflective practices to enhance student engagement and understanding. Mr. Vivek Tiwari presented practical methods for applying Bloom's Taxonomy, ensuring that teachers can meet learning objectives from foundational knowledge to advanced critical thinking.

The sessions also included activity-oriented programs, enabling teachers to implement experiential learning strategies effectively in their classrooms. These activities were designed to make learning more interactive and engaging, fostering a deeper comprehension of the subject matter among students.

Principal Mrs. Anitha Rajagopalan expressed her appreciation for the trainers and reaffirmed the school's commitment to ongoing professional development. She stated, "This training is a significant step towards creating a dynamic and innovative learning environment. By equipping our teachers with advanced educational strategies, we aim to provide our students with the best possible education."

Chairman Mr. Sanjay Gupta also emphasized the positive impact of the training on students' learning outcomes. He remarked, "Incorporating these experiential learning techniques will undoubtedly enhance our students' academic experience, making learning more meaningful and effective."

The training concluded with a collaborative discussion among teachers, sharing insights and planning the future application of experiential learning in their classrooms. The program was well-received by all participants, who left with renewed enthusiasm and a wealth of knowledge to enhance their teaching practices.

As Benjamin Franklin stated “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I will learn" has emphasized in the session on experiential learning.
