Students of Vasant Valley Public School Visit Shaheed Udham Singh Memorial,Sunam


 In a gesture of reverence and learning, students from classes VII and VIII of

Vasant Valley Public School, Ladda, undertook a poignant visit to the Shaheed

Udham Singh Memorial on 13 July 2024. The memorial, dedicated to the

legendary freedom fighter Udham Singh, resonated with historical significance as

the young learners paid homage to his indomitable spirit and sacrifice.

Accompanied by their teachers, the students engaged in a guided tour that

showcased artifacts, photographs, and detailed accounts of Udham Singh's life and

his pivotal role in India's struggle for independence. The visit was not merely an

educational outing but an opportunity for the students to connect deeply with the

nation's history and draw inspiration from the courage and determination exhibited

by Udham Singh.

Speaking on the occasion, The Principal Mrs Anitha Rajagopalan  emphasized the

importance of such visits in fostering a sense of patriotism and appreciation for the

sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. "It's crucial for our students to understand

and respect the history that has shaped our nation. Visits like these help in

nurturing a strong sense of identity and instill values of courage and sacrifice,"

remarked the Principal.

The students actively participated in the interactive sessions, where they posed

questions about Udham Singh's life and his motivations behind the historic act of

justice at the Jallianwala Bagh. Their keen interest and thoughtful reflections

during the visit highlighted their eagerness to learn and absorb from the past.

The Chairman, Mr Sanjay Gupta of Vasant Valley Public School expressed

gratitude to the memorial authorities for facilitating a meaningful and informative

visit. Such initiatives are part of the school's broader commitment to holistic

education that integrates academic learning with experiential understanding of

historical events.

The visit concluded with the students signing the visitor's book, pledging to uphold

the values of freedom, justice, and national unity that Udham Singh stood for. This

memorable educational excursion will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on

the young minds of Vasant Valley Public School, inspiring them to be responsible

citizens and custodians of India's rich heritage.

Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur celebrated the Earth Day with students

As a step towards educating, inspiring and motivating children to act, World Earth Day was celebrated on 21st April 2022 by the students of Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur focusing on the theme “Invest in our planet.”   A wide range of activities had been organised for students such as slogan writing competition, thumb painting, balloon painting on Earth Day so that they understand the need to restore Earth’s environment to its former glory. Tiny tots also presented a wonderful skit based on Earth Day and planted small plant saplings in the school campus.
