Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp at Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur

VASANT VALLEY PUBLIC SCHOOL, SANGRUR, successfully ORGANIZED the BHARATIYA BHASHA SUMMER CAMP during the summer vacation, in line with CBSE and NCERT guidelines. The camp aimed to foster multilingualism by encouraging students to learn an Indian language other than their mother tongue in a joyful, interactive manner.

Purpose and Approach

The sole purpose of the camp was to help students experience the richness of India’s linguistic diversity and develop basic conversational skills in a new language, promoting cultural appreciation and national integration. The camp ran for 7 days, totaling 28 hours, and was designed to be fun-based and engaging, using a communicative approach and a variety of creative activities.

Throughout the week, students were immersed in a variety of engaging activities that collectively aimed to develop their communication skills, cultural understanding, and appreciation for India’s linguistic diversity. The camp featured interactive sessions on basic greetings, expressions, alphabets, and numbers, enabling students to build foundational language skills. Creative activities such as art, music, dance, and painting allowed participants to experience the rich cultural heritage associated with the chosen language.

Students also explored virtual city tours, learned about local cuisines—including the names of spices, vegetables, and fruits—and gained insights into the region’s history and geography by identifying rivers, mountains, and other landmarks. The camp further promoted listening skills and cultural awareness through stories of local heroes from the Armed Forces, inspiring a sense of pride and respect for the nation.

Message from Chairman Mr. Sanjay Gupta:  "At Vasant Valley Public School, we strive to offer a creative and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
