Valley Public School, Ladda (Sangrur), celebrated National Handloom Day with
great enthusiasm and pride, reaffirming its commitment to promoting India’s
rich cultural heritage and the spirit of Vocal for Local. On this occasion, the
entire school staff adorned themselves in Khadi and handloom attire,
symbolizing respect and support for India’s traditional weaving heritage and
the skilled artisans who preserve it.
A
captivating exhibition of handcrafted products and traditional handicrafts was
organized on the school campus, showcasing the artistry, craftsmanship, and
creativity of Indian weavers and artisans. The exhibition provided students and
staff with an opportunity to appreciate the rich legacy of India’s handloom
industry and understand its significant contribution to the nation’s cultural
and economic fabric.
A
special programme was also conducted during the morning assembly to commemorate
the occasion. Inspiring speeches highlighted the invaluable contribution of
Indian weavers and artisans in preserving the country’s traditional
craftsmanship. The speakers emphasized that handloom is not merely a means of
producing fabric but a symbol of India’s culture, heritage, self-reliance, and
artistic excellence. Students were encouraged to value and support indigenous

The
School Chairman, Sh. Sanjay Gupta, appreciated the initiative to promote Indian
handloom traditions and remarked that such celebrations instil in students a
deep sense of respect for their cultural heritage and indigenous craftsmanship.
He emphasized that encouraging the use of handloom products is an important
step towards preserving India’s rich traditions and empowering local artisans.
The
School Principal, Mrs. Anitha Rajagopalan, also applauded the celebration and
stated that the artistry of Indian weavers and craftsmen is an invaluable cultural

The
