Vasant Valley Public School, Ladda
(Sangrur), celebrated National Sports Day on 29th August with great enthusiasm
and sporting spirit, commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary
Indian hockey player Major Dhyan Chand.
To mark the occasion, the school
organized Inter-House Football and Volleyball Matches, in which students from
the different houses participated with tremendous energy and enthusiasm. The
matches provided an exciting platform for students to demonstrate their
athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, coordination, and competitive spirit.
The vibrant contests echoed with cheers and encouragement, creating an
atmosphere of excitement across the school campus.
A special tribute was also paid to Major
Dhyan Chand, whose exceptional contribution to Indian hockey and remarkable
sporting legacy continue to inspire generations. Students were apprised of his
achievements and the values of dedication, perseverance, discipline, and
sportsmanship that defined his illustrious journey.
The School Chairman, Sh. Sanjay Gupta,
appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and emphasized the
importance of sports in shaping confident, disciplined, and resilient
individuals. He encouraged students to embrace the spirit of healthy
competition and develop the values of teamwork and perseverance through
sporting activities.
The School Principal, Mrs. Anitha
Rajagopalan, congratulated the students for their spirited participation and
paid tribute to Major Dhyan Chand on his birth anniversary. She highlighted
that sports are an integral part of holistic education, helping students
develop leadership, confidence, physical fitness, and the ability to work
collectively towards a common goal.
The celebration concluded on a high
note, with students carrying forward the spirit of teamwork, fair play,
determination, and sportsmanship. The Inter-House matches not only made the
