Awareness Activity on Good Touch-Bad Touch and Cyber Safety Organized at Vasant Valley Public School

An awareness activity on Good Touch-Bad Touch, social awareness and cyber safety was organized today at Vasant Valley Public School, Ladda, Sangrur for the students of classes Nursery to IV. The objective of this activity was to make students aware about personal safety, moral values, good behaviour and staying safe in the digital world.

Under the programme, through an educational play, children were explained the difference between good touch and inappropriate touch. Students were told that they should respect the personal boundaries of their body and in any uncomfortable situation they should say 'No' without fear, move away from there and immediately inform their parents, teachers or any trusted adult. Along with this, children were also informed about being cautious of strangers, not sharing their personal information online and safe use of internet and digital devices. This activity was a commendable initiative towards making children aware of their rights and safety under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.

The successful conduct and guidance of this programme was done by Coordinators Ms. Abhinandan and Ms. Sakshi. They provided important safety related information to the children in a simple and interesting way, so that they can identify any inappropriate behaviour and take appropriate steps when needed.

Appreciating this initiative, the Hon'ble Chairman of the school, Sh. Sanjay Gupta Ji, said that to ensure the safety of children and their bright future, it is very essential to make them aware, confident and responsible. He said that along with education, children should also be conscious about their rights, duties and personal safety.

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Anitha Rajagopalan, also praised this activity and said that teaching children to identify good and bad behaviour from a young age is the need of the hour. She gave a message to the students that they should not panic in any uncomfortable situation, speak up fearlessly and always seek help from their trusted elders. She also said that following the rules of cyber safety is essential for every child in today's digital age.

Thus, this awareness activity proved to be a useful initiative to inspire students to adopt safe behaviour, remain alert about their safety and face situations with confidence.
