Keeping this in mind, the seminar was conducted on 27 January, 2023 in the School Auditorium which aims to reflect the philosophy incorporated in Gita, the principles of life and karma reflected in it, along with good governance, political, economic, and social justice which would help us in establishing a welfare state as contemplated under the Indian Constitution.     Hundreds of students of Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur were made aware about the danger in using Chinese string to fly kites. Students were shown different videos to shun the use of banned string. The School Principal, Mrs. Anitha R. stated that despite the ban on the Chinese plastic string, it is being sold in the city with impunity. We motivated the school children not to buy the string, as its use imperils the lives of human beings and birds. She also added that the string was being manufactured in China earlier so it was called the Chinese string, but now it was being manufactured at various places in India such as Noida, Bengaluru, UP, etc. Students were accompanied by teachers also. In regard to this, the President of FAP, Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri started a campaign “ Say No to China Dor”and informed all the schools to take pledge on this ongoing campaign.     Lohri the festival which ushers in the joyous spring and bids adieu to the hard winter, was celebrated at School with exuberance and fanfare on 13th January 2023. The mood on the campus was upbeat and the students, faculty all were immersed in the festive spirit. Everyone gathered in their festive attires looking best for the occasion. A key symbol of Lohri is the bonfire. The School Principal, Mrs. Anitha R. wished everyone a happy and prosperous lohri and blessed the students with her warm wishes. She also added that lightning of the fire has been common in winter festivals throughout time and to the world it signifies the return of longer days.
