  Field trips are a way of enhancing classroom learning by making real world connections. The field  trips give students the opportunity to observe a particular environment that enables first-hand experience of what they are learning. The students of Grade 1 and 2  of Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur were taken to one of the famous place, Banasar Bagh, Sangrur on 29 April, 2023. The tiny tots truly enjoyed the day with playing different games conducted by our skillful teachers. They also had lunch under the open sky along with their friends. Moreover, this visit motivated them to be responsible towards environment. The School Principal, Mrs. Anitha R. glad to see excitement amongst the students and said that such trips offers opportunity to students as well as teachers  to interact outside the classroom.Thus enhancing their bonding with each other and helps in improving their social and life skills.

  Art is just not a handicraft but it is more than the transmission of feeling the artist has experienced. Our school rightly believes in this and therefore never fails to provide an opportunity to encourage the talented Vasantarians in pursuing their passion related to art and craft. In recognition to the hard work put in by one of our student, Navpreet Singh of Grade V grabbed first position and cash prize of Rs 2100/- in Painting Competition organized in the memory of Sr. Harbans Singh Dhillon (Father of Punjabi Industry Artist Binnu Dhillon) on 23 April, 2023 in Dhuri. This fun filled activity witnessed an enthusiastic participation by numerous students.             The School Principal, Mrs. Anitha R. congratulated the winner boy & blessed him for bright future.

As a step towards educating, inspiring and motivating children to act, World Earth Day was celebrated on 21st April 2022 by the students of Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur focusing on the theme “Invest in our planet.”   A wide range of activities had been organised for students such as slogan writing competition, thumb painting, balloon painting on Earth Day so that they understand the need to restore Earth’s environment to its former glory. Tiny tots also presented a wonderful skit based on Earth Day and planted small plant saplings in the school campus. The students got inspired to save, love, and respect Mother Nature with all their hearts and soul.   A highly-acclaimed art competition was organised recently by the Multi Art Creator’s Club at Ranbir College, Sangrur. The students of Vasant Valley Public School holistically participated in the competition.  We are glad to announce that out of approximately 200 students from different schools, 13 students of VVPS secured overall second position and were honoured at The Millennium School, Sunam on 19 April, 2023. Moreover, students were also acclaimed with Best Colouring Awards.  The School Principal, Mrs. Anitha R. congratulated all the students for their utmost achievement.She also stated that we value our students’ creativity and artistic talents. Moreover, we aim to engage students in creative opportunities and emp ower students to take on every challenge with confidence and originality.

  Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur has a rich tradition of celebrating all festivals in the School to make the young learners aware of their vibrant culture. Thus, the occasion of Baisakhi was celebrated by the students of Pre-Primary with full zeal and enthusiasm on 13 April, 2023 in the School Auditorium. Students of Nanhe Kadam from Sangrur and Dhuri also joined the celebration.                                                             Our little Vasantarians were looking radiant in their vibrant Punjabi attires and  enthusiastically participated in modelling and many creative activities which added grace to the event.         The dazzling musical and dance performances were the highlight of the event. The students were familiarized with the origin of the fest, process of harvesting  and historical significance of the day.   The School Principal, Mrs. Anitha R. encouraged the students to enjoy all the festivals and blessed everyone to have prosperous lives ahead.

  Baisakhi Festival was celebrated in Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur with gusto and religious fervor on 13 April, 2023. A special assembly was organized in which students were made aware about the historical importance of the Baisakhi festival and highlighted the punjabi culture through speech, poem, music and dance performances depicting the significance of Baisakhi. The beats of the dhol brought vibrancy to the environment.                   A skit was also performed by the students which highlighted the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters in Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar and had left the audience spellbound. Students also paid tribute to Dr. BR Ambedkar on his birth anniversary and were told about the significance of his life and achievements. The motive behind this celebrations was to apprise the students about the rich culture and heritage of Punjab, and to enrich the knowledge about Dr. BR Ambedkar.   Learning through play is fundamental to child’s   education that help them to develop the necessary skills in life. Keeping this in mind, Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur had organized a Puppet Show on 5th April, 2023 i.e Wednesday in the School Auditorium. The theme was based on the fact that- “Education is the key to success.” The story was unfolded with the help of various puppet animals. The main objective of this show was to make the students understand about the importance of education in one’s life and how regularity and punctuality leads to successful life. The teachers had put all their efforts to fulfil the child’s expectations. It was seen that students fully enjoyed the show. Moreover, the School Principal, Mrs. Anitha R. appreciated the efforts of each and everyone who were indulged in this show and she said that the show was super success.

  It is rightly said that “Chess holds its master in its own bonds, shackling the mind and brain so that the inner freedom and independence of even the strongest character remain unaffected.” We are thrilled to announce that two students of Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur, named Sukhpreet Kaur of Grade X and Khushpreet Kaur of Grade IV grabbed 3rd and 5th position in Chess District Tournament held on 2nd April, 2023 in Under-17 Team. Students had   shown a stellar performance and are selected for State Tournament which will be held on 8th and 9th April, 2023 in the District of Jalandhar. The School Principal, Mrs. Anitha R. congratulated both the students and wished them best of luck for the next level. She stated that it was indeed quite heart-warming to know that the students of VVPS had played their moves like stalwarts with rapt concentration and made the school proud.

  Beginning of New Session is always an auspicious time - a time for new hopes and renewed energies. Session 2023- 24 was started with sanctity and enthusiasm in Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur. The day started with a name of almighty god in a morning assembly in which the students and teachers participated whole heartedly. The School Principal, Mrs. Anitha R. blessed the students for a pure and pristine commencement of the new academic session and induced the team spirit of the school amongst the students and congratulated them on stepping into a new phase in their academic life and wished them a fulfilling and promising stay in the school.
