  Our joy knows no bounds to share the remarkable achievement of one of our student Khushpreet Kaur of Grade IV studying in Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur who stood at third position in Punjab State Chess Championship in U-11 group held at Ludhiana. She was honoured with Trophy, Book and appreciation certificate. This is a commendable accomplishment for the school as well as parents of the same girl who has been in this game for so long, and had a few odds to beat to compete in this competition. The School Principal, Mrs. Anitha R. heartily congratulated the winner on her well deserved victory and wished all the glory and feats of fame in future. She concluded by saying that everyone has the fire, but the champions know when to ignite the spark.

  Teej festival of monsoon basically marks the significance of arrival of monsoon and is dedicated to goddess Parvati and her union with Lord Shiva. Keeping the theme of merriment and festivity, a function was organized at Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur on 19th August 2023 for all the girls of Nursery to Grade XII. Students were made aware about the historical significance of this festival in the morning assembly. The girls came in elegant traditional dresses on this occasion and performed amazing dance and Giddha with full enthusiasm and joy on this day. Punjabi folk dances and songs made the occasion more colorful and meaningful. The female faculty members added major charm to the celebration.   A student gains different abilities, experience and trust through participation in various sports and games, which help to develop their personality. Sports assist in developing the body's mental health and physical fitness. Keeping this in mind, we always encourage our students to take part in every sports category and we are proud to announce that boys of Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur of Under -14 and Under-19 bagged First and Second position respectively in the Football Championship School Zone Tournament held in Sangrur. The School Principal, Mrs. Anitha R. congratulated the players of both the teams and conveyed her best wishes for the upcoming competitions. She also added that sports teaches us discipline, focus, dedication, hard work, commitment and teamwork and helps to keep our mental health stable and focused.

      On the 15th of August, 2023 Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur held an Exhibition on the theme “Sunhera Bharat- an Incredible India.” The exhibition aimed to display the comprehension and artistic capabilities of the students covering all the subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Social Science, STEM, Robotics, Art & Craft  and all the three languages. The event was held in the School Auditorium where the students showcased their patriotism and pride for the nation through a series of spectacular dance and music performances. Students of Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur bagged top positions at the recently held Karate Zone level Tournament-2023 held at Sangrur on 10th and 11th August, 2023.   In the Boys Category, Jashandeep Singh and Sukhrajveer Singh of Grade VII grabbed first position and second position was bagged by   Rahulinder Singh and Armaan Dhillon of Grade VII. Likewise in the Girls Category, Meenakshi, Mehakpreet Kaur and Pargunpreet Kaur of Grade VI made us all proud by grabbing first position.   In the recently concluded U-19 Punjab Junior State Badminton Championship 2023 under the Barnala Badminton Association held at Barnala   from 4th August to 7th August, 2023, students of VVPS put on a stellar show. Agamya Rishi and Abhimukt Rishi of Grade X   participated in the competition and bagged bronze medals in mixed double category. Congratulating the medalists, the School Principal, Mrs. Anitha R. was delighted with the performance of young players, and hope that they will continue to win accolades for the school in the future. She also added that the school always seeks to cultivate and nurture a climate of excellence be it in academics or sports.   Poetry is the core of literature”. To spread the fragrance of poetry among the children, a Hindi Poem Recitation Competition was held for Nursery to U.K.G. students in Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur on 5 August, 2023. The students chose a variety of topics for their recitation like nature, trees, flowers, mother, teacher, school environment etc., with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm.    They enjoyed reciting the rhymes with beautiful expressions, thoughts and rhythm. The magic of their words and innocent gestures left everybody spellbound. The prime aim behind this competition was to boost the confidence of the tiny tots and improve their public speaking skills.   The Principal of the School, Mrs. Anitha R. applauded the efforts of all the little ones and she also added that in the actual teaching process, reciting has often been overlooked easily but it is the basic means of developing language ability. It was the occasion where the elected students were all prepared to wear the mantle of leadership and discharge the responsibility entrusted to them.
