  Vasant Valley Public School,Sangrur organised a practical session on 28th August,2024.   Our school   auditorium was transformed into a science laboratory as Dr. Jaswinder Singh, a renowned educationist also known as Shiksha Ratan, conducted an interactive practical learning session for students. The session was a huge success, with students enthusiastically participating in various experiments and activities. Dr. Singh's session focused on specific topic, e.g., Magnetism, electrostatic and other forces. Students were divided into groups and worked together to conduct experiments, collect data, and analyze results. Dr. Singh provided guidance and support, encouraging students to think critically and creatively. The session was designed to make learning fun and engaging, and it certainly achieved that goal. On August 23, National Space Day was celebrated with a series of educational and competitive events organized by ISRO in collaboration with SLIET, Longowal, Sangrur. The students of Vasant Valley Public School extended their festive spirit beyond the school walls by visiting the Pingalwara in Sangrur.   Costumes are vital aspects of a character. Fancy dress encourages a learner to think outside the box and express their point of view of the world around them. Keeping this spirit in mind, Vasant Valley Public School, Sangrur hosted the Fancy Dress Competition on 14th August,2024   in which students of Grade I to IV participated. The theme-based competition included two categories: Freedom Fighters and Great Indian Leaders for grades II,III and IV respectively. The young learners looked vibrant and magnificent in their costumes. The performances included profound imitations of great leaders who shaped our Nation's Destiny. This year it's the 10th commemoration with the theme aims to highlight the integration of technology and innovation in handloom weaving, fostering skill development, and expanding market access for weavers.   As we believe in all round awareness and development of students, on 5th of August 2024, our pre primary students of Vasant Valley Public School went on a field trip to 'More' Supermarket as part of extended learning on “Food we eat”. Our students identified healthy and unhealthy food enthusiastically.  A supermarket is a wonderful place for children to be made aware of and learn about different kinds of foods and other things available there. On their visit to the super-market, children were made to identify the types of foods found there. They were shown different sections of the supermarket (fresh fruits & vegetable section, grain section, toiletry section, meat/dairy/frozen food section, bakery, and canned goods, toys, etc.) Teachers explained to them how things are bought, billed and paid for. An interactive session was held by resource person Ms.Maryann   Vaisoha [ Training Consultant-British Council ]. Ms.Vaisoha presided over the session wherein she stressed on the need to understand the function of the English language and strategies to develop language skills amongst students through storytelling and activity fun based exercises. International Tiger Day observed in the Primary classes of Vasant Valley Public School

  International Tiger Day is observed every year on July 29 to raise awareness about this magnificent but endangered royal animal. Alarmingly, wild tiger numbers dropped by more than 95% since the beginning of the 20th century. Consequently, this day was founded in 2010 at the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit in Russia. The tiny tots of Vasant Valley Public School celebrated International Tiger Day with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. The little ones from Pre school to class 1 enjoyed a variety of activities on this day.   The Pre school children did craft work with paper plates and painted tigers on them. The Pre primary students joyously made finger puppets of tigers and skillfully sketched drawings of these majestic creatures to celebrate International Tiger Day.
